Sometimes it can be challenging to find light during difficult times. It is important to try to focus on the good & in turn that will help us to find our inner happiness when the lights feel dim. Did you know that being consciously aware of what you’re thankful for can actually change your level of happiness? There are always silver linings – we just have to allow our consciousness to find them. Here are some way to consciously focus on your happiness:
Start by making a list of all the small things that contribute to your happiness. From feeling the sun warming your face, to the birds singing as you take a walk, or maybe even the taste of your first morning coffee. Keeping such a list helps to stay focused on the present as you go through each day, and will remind you how many great things there are in your life.
Give yourself permission to be who you are – permission to laugh big, to cry when you need to, to fail; permission to fall apart, breakdown and get back up again; permission to be different and unique; permission to go too far and reach your dreams.
When you wake up each morning, spend time recalling all the things for which you feel grateful. Before you go to bed, you can keep a gratitude journal. Write down some things you felt gratitude for during your day. Even saying prayers of gratitude are truly powerful because through these prayers we can recognize the ultimate source of all we are and all we can be.
